I was asked to prototype a mobile app that provides custom weather information using the design thinking process. The app displays data for users depending on their needs, from simple to detailed.
I identified and prioritised the most significant problems when using the app whilst considering individual mindsets. I designed two screens, one with an overview of the current day and upcoming days and another screen where users could see more detail of each day.

Prototyping - Visual Design
First, I mapped out the users’ steps by sketching out screens to see how I could simplify their journey.
I then moved onto the visual design and created the Hi-fidelity UI Design before building the prototype. The first screen is the interface users will see when they open the app. On the same interface, they could also search weather for that particular day.
Finally, I created an interactive prototype to demonstrate user flow.
The goals achieved by creating the prototype included an easy to see weather forecast snapshot upon login to the app. In addition, I learned simplifying designs and reducing unnecessary features is a positive thing.
